Its about the numbers, over 95% (Ok thats an estimate, but am sure the number is closer to 99%) of mobile users do not have phones that can scan and make use of QR codes

QR codes would not be embraced in mass where feature phones are the majority. In the west this is a different story. unless telecel use it as a niche feature on recharge cards which just incurs more...
